Weekend @ Stockholm

Hello!

This weekend has been awesome. I went to Stockholm with the guys from my school and we came there on Friday morning. We went to the Arena to check out the jump and all the other stuff. It looked really good and all the riders was going to try it out later but it was to soft so we couldn’t ride but there were like 3 riders that tried it and they had some struggle with the speed but it was going to be a little bit harder the next day so we were stoked.

We stayed at Scandic hotell in Täby just outside Stockholm so it was maybe 20 minutes from the Arena. At the night we went to Transition Winter Awards and everybody was there so it was fun. I was nominated in 2 categories “Rookie of the year” and “Parkshredder of the year” so I was a little bit nervous. But it turned out really good and I won “Parkshredder of the year”! Don’t know what to say but I’m so stoked on that and I couldn’t have done it without Kläppen Snowpark becuase that’s the place to be and they helped me to evolve my snowboarding to this level. Always a perfect shaped park, so perfect with the lift in the park and you can do 100 runs a day if you want.

On saturday we went up early and ate a good breakfast at Scandic and after that we went to the arena to have some practice before the qualification. The practice went good but the qualification didn’t go so well. I didn’t land any jump becuase it was to soft in the landning and I fell down so that sucked but it was fun anyway and congrats to Niklas Mattsson and Jakob Edman that made it through to the finals. Niklas Mattsson did a perfect bs doublecork 10! So stoked to see him shredding. That kid is going to kill the slopes this winter for sure.
Stefan Gimpl won, Marco Grilc 2nd place and Gjermund Braathen 3rd! yeah guys.

Stoked!

YO!

I just got home from my first steps towards a drivinglicense. I’m going to pack soon because tomorrow I’m going to the capital of Sweden, Stockholm for Winter Jam. Check it!

The Transition Winter Awards on Transition.se has this ridernomination for their riding last season and I’m nominated in two categories, “Parkshredder of the year” and “Rookie of the year”. I’m so stoked on that! Here’s some more INFO about the Winter Awards.

I went to Tandådalen today with my school and that was my first time riding in Sweden this season so I was so stoked! The weather was not the best but I had so much fun with my friends so it didn’t matter. The jump there is awesome. Next weekend it’s Nitro big air and first place is a invite for Oxborn Session so you should go there for sure!

What do you think about this, a new style maybe? haha

Back home

Hello!

At the semi-finals on Pleasure Jam it didn’t go so well. I didn’t land any run so it was no superfinals for me but Tobbe Karlsson and the norweigan boys Torgeir and Joachim made it through!! They delivered some good riding for sure and Torgeir got 2nd place, Tobbe 4th place and I think Joachim got the 7th position. I’m so happy for them and I was stoked even if I didn’t reach the finals.
Elias Elhardt won the whole thing. Check Pleasure Jams website for more info.
But the weekend was awesome. I had so much fun and it was fun to meet everybody again.

Now I’m finally home in Lima. I came to Sweden last night and slept one night at my uncles place.
School tomorrow and then Tandådalen the day after!! I’m so stoked to ride some snowboard here at home.

Dachstein/Pleasure Jam day 2

Hey!

Yesterday we didn’t have any Internet so I couldn’t fix any update but I’ll give you one now.

We arrived here in Dachstein yesterday in the morning. We went pretty early from Oberammergau and met up with Andi Aurhammer on Nitro and Xavier Hoffman. After that we drove to Dachstein and of course we went for the slope when we came here. The weather was really good and it was pretty much snow so we were stoked! I was a little bit scared about the knee but everything turned out good and I didn’t have any pain at all or maybe just a little bit but that didn’t matter because I was having so much fun with everybody!

But we were just crusing around in the slopes hitting some boxes and the small jumps, fun stuff for sure!
After some hours of riding we went down to our apartment and waited for the ridersmeeting.
At the meeting they told us that there would be two heats with 40 riders in each. That was pretty tough because only 6 riders from each heat got through to the finals. And the funny thing was that all the swedish and norweigan riders was in the same heat.

So today when we went up we were so stoked but on the top of the mountain it was shitty weather so you couldn’t see anything and it was windy and everybody had some problems with the speed.

On the qualification you had 2 runs and the best one counts. The level wasn’t that big becuase of the weather. It was hard to get over the jumps and stuff like that but after a while and when the second run started it turned out really good and the level got much higher!
And the setup was really good. First it was a flat down box into a kicker line with 3 jumps, not the biggest jumps but they were fun. After the jumps it was a small wallride. I really liked the setup.

And yeah, I made it through to the finals taking the 4th position in the qualis so I was so stoked on that. Gjermund Braathen won the qualification, super sick riding! Also Tobbe Karlsson, Joachim Krogstie and Torgeir Bergrem made it through. Awesome!

Tomorrow it’s time for the finals and I’m looking forward to it and I think it’s going to be so much fun. The weather seems to be better tomorrow as well.

Going to sleep now because I’m so tired and I’m going up early tomorrow.

Oberammergau

Yo!

Now I’m finally here in Oberammergau after a long day of traveling. Tobbe and Matte came and picked me up and then we went to Subway for some food and it was really nice. It took like 14 hours to travel so I’m kind of tired right now. Up early tomorrow and then were heading to Dachstein. I think it takes like 3 hours with car so I will go to sleep now. Maybe some snowboarding tomorrow. That would be sick!

When i was in Saas Fee me and Fille Landmark went to a animal park in the woods with some crazy animals! So much fun. Check this pictures out:

Right now I’m chilling at the airport here in Amsterdam. Going to fly to Munich in a while and then meet up with Tobbe Karlsson and Matte Nyberg. After that were going to Oberammergau just for the night and then Dachstein tomorrow. It’s time for Pleasure Jam this weekend so I’m really stoked but I still got some pain in my knee but hopefully it works.

More updates will come so stay tuned!
